Shadow White

Taking its name from the soft tone created when bright whites are used in shaded areas, Shadow White is the perfect colour for devotees of lighter neutrals who want to steer clear of yellow-based whites.

Joa:

Shadow White is the perfect shade for anyone who is wary of both grey and yellow-based whites. It will hold its understated colour in any light. Its soft quality is perfect for both the modern family house on walls, and on woodwork in historic houses, but probably not for very clean edged architectural spaces.

Charlotte:

Shadow White is an especially versatile colour that works well with a number of others. It really is suited to every space! I've recently used it in a hallway to connect all the rooms.

How to use it...

1.

Joa:

Shadow White was created to be used with Shaded White for the ultimate subtle tone-on-tone interior. They can be used in any combination throughout a house.

For a simple traditional look use the lighter Shadow White on woodwork, and Shaded White on walls; or in reverse with the paler shade on the walls, and darker on woodwork, which can make the space feel bigger and lighter.

Either way, rooms will have a wonderfully understated feel, mimicking the colour of a bright white when seen in shade.

2.

Charlotte:

Shadow White is so versatile, it also works as the perfect neutral background to brighter pops of colour such as St Giles Blue and Calluna.
