What day is Black Friday 2024 in the UK?
This year, Black Friday falls on Friday 29th November. As it is traditionally an American event, it always lands on the last Friday of November following Thanksgiving, which is also when the majority of people begin their Christmas shopping.
How long do most Black Friday deals last?
Most sales and discounts will end at midnight on Cyber Monday, 2nd December, which is the Monday after Black Friday - so be quick! However, theses dates do vary from retailer to retailer, and some shops drop their prices well before Black Friday.
How to find the best Black Friday deals in 2024
While the Black Friday sale is supposed to be fun, they often become rather overwhelming. As the endless stream of sales emails land in your inbox – and you can't get away from the barrage of ads on your social media feeds – you'd be forgiven for giving up on the whole thing. However, we're on hand to help. This guide is designed to help you take advantage of some really great Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, where many of the prices are the lowest you'll see all year.
What is Cyber Monday and when is it?
Most retailers take part in both Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Traditionally, Black Friday was for in-store deals in bricks and mortar shops, where Cyber Monday was for online discounts. However, the past few years have seen them rolled into one big event. Cyber Monday falls on Monday 2nd December 2024.

While many retailers already have their Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals live or at least announced, some will not go live until the day, so keep an eye out for additional discounts and deals. If your favourite shop didn't join in last year, don't count them out for 2024's event.

As one of the most well known mattress in a box brands, Emma often has good deals throughout the year, but the Cyber Monday deals are worth waiting for. There's up to 50% off on a wide range of their bestselling products, ending on Monday 2nd December.
Our pick for the best mattress to buy in 2024, the Emma NextGen Premium Mattress has 30% off. Emma Original Mattress is the brand's best seller and for its Black Friday sale, it currently has 20% off, meaning you'd save a massive £100 off a double. Home, bath and body fragrance brand NEOM are slashing prices across their site by 25%, using the promo code SWEET. Having used their products in the past, we can vouch for the long-lasting smell of their candles, made with luxurious and natural essential oils. Our seasonal pick would be their Christmas candle, with notes of mandarin, cinnamon and tonka bean for a comforting festive fragrance, which would make a perfect festive gift. For a slightly more high-tech way of making your home smell lovely, go for the Wellbeing Pod Luxe, a mains-operated, remote-controlled essential oil diffuser, designed to fill larger rooms with the fragrance of your choice.
The White Company

The British retailer is offering a generous discount of 20% off everything this Black Friday weekend. As well as their minimalist homeware, loungewear and scented candles, The White Company consistently rank among our favourite artificial Christmas trees, for their incredibly realistic look and sturdy quality. Many of their popular trees have now sold out, but if you're still looking for one to take pride of place in the living room this Black Friday, their 9ft Pre-Lit Grand Spruce would be an excellent choice. If you're looking for an easy gift or just to sample a selection of the brand's different home fragrance products, their Winter Hamper, which comes in a reusable wicker basket, would be our recommendation.

Curated by chef Tommy Banks, Made in Oldstead has a firm focus on local, sustainable ingredients from their three-acre kitchen garden and twenty-acre farm in north Yorkshire. With these locally foraged ingredients, they make seasonal hampers and fine dining menus that are ready to cook from home. I tried the Yuletide Grazing hamper, all of which was delicious, but the highlights were a meaty pork pie, the two contrasting cheeses, and the unusual sweet and chewy root vegetable biscuits. Consistently one of the best deals you'll find in any John Lewis sale period are discounted Le Creuset pans. The iconic cookware company is on the more premium end of the scale and any discount window provides the perfect opportunity to invest in a few new pots and pans. It’s also a great place to buy perfume (another great Christmas gift idea), as well as tech. John Lewis has great customer service if you need it; they also price match products and will refund the difference if you find the product cheaper elsewhere, within 7 days of purchase. What to buy: We love the look of the cloud-like Vienna bedspread and cushion cover set, which is on sale for better than half price. Dusk also sells a wonderful range of sofas, loveseats and sofa beds.
Piglet in Bed
Piglet in Bed Black Friday deals: This luxury linen bedding brand is offering an impressive 20% off almost everything, as well as 30% off bundles. Since coming to life in 2017 Piglet in Bed specialised in just bed linen, but now it also includes everything sleep-related, including pjs, blankets, duvets, pillows and toppers too, all of which are beautifully designed and, of course, high quality.
What to buy: The merino wool duvet sounds like a sumptuously cosy duvet that will keep you warm through winter, but also cooler in the summer months. During the Black Friday event, it is reduced to £151.20, from £189, for the double size. While the gingham wool blankets come in 9 colours and will be £103.20 during the sale, when they are normally priced at £129.

Habitat Black Friday deals: Although it's already one of the most affordable places to shop for interiors and homewares, Habitat does join in on Black Friday deals, making it a great time to get an even better price across beds, sofas, lighting, storage, picture frames, storage, tables and more. They currently have 20% off selected furniture lines, using the promo code FURN20.
What to buy: We love the plush Julien Velvet Armchair, which will arrive in time for Christmas if ordered now, and the sweet Blaire Bobbin Side Table in a vibrant red.

Amazon Black Friday deals: Online shopping behemoth Amazon have an overwhelming amount of deals and discounts across the entire website, based on a product by product basis. This includes some great tech deals and special offers on home and garden products. Their prices are fluctuating constantly, so if you spot a big saving on something, act quickly.
What to buy: With so many items reduced, it can be hard to know where to start. We've spotted some great discounts on luxury Alessi kitchenware, such as this Pulcina Espresso coffee maker, which combines functionality with a sculptural design. Or perhaps you're looking for a quality air fryer? There's currently a huge 44% off the Breville Halo Flexi Air Fryer, saving you £100.
La Redoute
La Redoute Black Friday Deals: Up to 50% off everything, plus extra discounts with promo code SAVEBIG.
What to buy: La Redoute typically puts on one of the biggest sales, with up to 50% off absolutely everything. Use this window of opportunity to pick up some great deals on soft furnishings such as rugs and bedding - we love their Scala Washed Linen pillowcases . It’s also a great retailer to find reductions on kitchen appliances, from the mundane (but very useful!) microwaves, to vacuum cleaners and air fryers too.
